A celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Marie Selby Gardens Associates took place at a luncheon in the Great Room by the Bay. As guests entered the door, those who chose to partake were given a glass of champagne. Delicate sounds of a Celtic harp floated over the room, the beautiful instrument being played by Olivia Swaan. In the corner, artist Bill Read was at work on a large abstract canvas, spreading brilliantly colored oils with his palette knife.
Marie Selby Gardens Association found the perfect way to wind up the past year, which was dedicated to "growing green."
The Edible Petals Champagne Luncheon was held on the grounds in the Great Room by the Bay. Tranquil vibrations of Celtic harp music, performed by Olivia Swaan, danced lightly through the Banyans. Guests dined on aesthetically and palate pleasing appetizers, salads and desserts, with edible flowers crafted by Joan Kershaw of Floral Concepts.
Joan Kershaw brought the art of Lae Sa Luk, fruit-and-vegetable carving, to the U.S. after training in Thailand. Check out some of the photos taken from various events on YourObserver.com
